Who Are We?
Bourne Evangelical Church:
Circa 2009 the Lord began to draw together a small group of like-minded believers who met for weekly Bible study in the village of Swaton. Additional teaching days were held at Great Hale and then from 2013-2019 the group moved to Wake House in Bourne to establish Bourne Evangelical Fellowship/Church. As of June 2019 BEC now gather for worship at Eastgate Chapel in Bourne, a historic Victorian building erected in 1846 for the Lord's Gospel work in Bourne.

Why another Church? The prophet Amos long ago wrote "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD" (Amos 8:11). Perhaps you also are experiencing a famine in your life with much "sighing and crying" ? (Ezekiel 9:4; Heb. 5:11-14; Matt. 11:28-30).

Recognising the needs of our day ... gives special attention to the Word of God and evangelism. We gather as the Lord commanded (Hebrews 10:24-25) for mutual edification and instruction; to encounter the living God by his Word and Spirit; to be changed "from glory to glory" (2 Cor. 3:18) in order to be salt & light in a lost and dying world (Matt. 5:13-16).

Yet ....is not a dry bible-thumping Church, we are a family of believers who seek to uphold Jesus central command: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself (Matt. 22:37-39)" That means we live out our Christian walk in community and while none of us are perfect we "Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep" (Romans 12:15). We invite you to join us and become actively involved in your local Bible believing church.

Our vision is to "make a difference" at and across the local area. As the world around us rapidly changes God's word provides us a sound and sure foundation. We hold a high view of scripture and are gospel, cross and Christ centred, driven by our love of God and love of neighbour. Thus we are impelled to reach, teach, equip and send out a new generation of disciples before the consummation of the age; soli deo gloria

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
