My name is David Tattersall and I am the pastor here at Bourne Evangelical Church. I am married to Sue, my wife and soulmate since 2001. Before coming to Bourne I served at Martin Top Chapel Clitheroe as an elder and in leadership roles. After moving to Bourne to support the ongoing work here I was soon appointed an elder and trustee of the Church. As the incumbent Pastor sought to step down I felt providentially called by the Lord to serve as senior pastor. Following prayerful discussions and a successful membership vote I took the reigns in January 2023. 

 

In so many ways God has worked throughout my life to bring me to this point. Although I grew up in a Christian family I did not feel I needed faith or God. Then during a period in my life which became my lowest point, I felt someone was watching over me, but wasn’t sure who it was. I ended up living in a Bed and Breakfast in Blackburn Lancashire and the nearest church was an Elim Pentecostal. I started to attend and realised that the presence I had always felt in those desperate times was God.

 

On Christmas Eve 2000 I was in the Church service and I felt the power of the Holy Spirit pass through me from head to toe. This was the start of my journey. The rest as the say is history. In addition to my Pastoral duties, I work part-time. Sue and I are looking forward to moving forward in the Lord, to grow Bourne Evangelical Church and the vision we all share, to see the Lord Jesus magnified and souls saved.
